Who's She

Melanie Civetta

“I'm a firestarter...”

  –The Prodigy

*The Warm Disruptor who catalyzes change.*

Tack-sharp, slick, yet sunshiney, Melanie is an NYC-based actress & producer whose characters always find the crack in the system.

She LIVES to play characters 2 steps ahead-- very "not-my-first-rodeo," very demure (is that still funny?)..She once played "The Period Fairy" for HelloFlo, part of a campaign that reframed periods as power instead of shame-- featured in Time magazine & Teen Vogue.

Melanie being "resourceful"- or maybe "practical?" - is an understatement. She knew she was going to SUNY Purchase for Acting since 8th grade because it was "affordable" and right near NYC-the dream for a gal from central NY! That sense of grounded strategy permeates all of her characters.

After Purchase- where she interned at Endeavor Talent Agency (before it was WME!) and directed an avant garde version of Euripides Medea (woman taking control much?)-  she learned about film & tv acting by diving headfirst into NYC film production.

Over dozens (hundreds?) of commercials, music videos, films, tv shows, etc. she worked Production, Wardrobe, Costumes, Make-up, A.D. depts, and more. One more notable gig was at  SNL Film Unit (szns 42-47)  as Production Coordinator promoted from 1st Team P.A --do you know how hard it is to claw your way up THAT chain of command?? STORIES, GURL-but her lips are zipped. All of it for the love of the craft-- She puts it in her art. ;)

Too bold to fade into wallpaper, Melanie unlocks access, shifts the power dynamic, and moves the story forward-- usually with a knowing smirk.

“Baby, you can make it as the underdog.”
