Who's She

Melanie Civetta

“What can you show me, that my heart don’t know already?”

– The Weeknd

“Melanie is the actor you want to work with. She is dedicated and serious about the craft. I’ve coached her many times over the last few years and she has always been professional and gracious with adjustments. She is always curious and open to adjustments. To me, that makes the perfect recipe.”

— Kimberly Graham, C.S.A.; Casting Director of Homeland

Melanie Civetta is an NYC-based actress, filmmaker, and NYS licensed esthetician who doesn’t believe in surface-level anything. Whether she’s diving into a character, a creative project, or releasing years of jaw tension through Buccal massage—she digs deep, or she passes. Period.

Melanie’s approach to acting is as hands-on and intuitive as her facial work: get to the core, skip the fluff, and say it with your chest. She trained extensively in on-camera performance with Tim Phillips (whose no-nonsense style she swears by) and earned her Theatre B.A. from Purchase College, where she chased knowledge by any means necessary—interviewing A-list actors during her internship at Endeavor (pre-WME), working the Performing Arts Center front desk, and fully immersing herself in the industry from every angle.

On the production side, she’s just as fearless. Her first film project as Producer? A national Scope mouthwash campaign. Like, first. Since then, she’s worked extensively in NYC film production—most notably with the Saturday Night Live Film Unit (Seasons 42–47), where she honed her work ethic and storytelling instincts. You can see her Production Manager chops in the high-production-value “Squid Game” music video starring Pete Davidson and Rami Malek.

Whether in front of the camera or at the treatment table, Melanie brings curiosity, presence, and zero tolerance for half-assery. She’s the type to sneak into the front row at a concert (true story), just to figure out how the stage really works.

She’s currently developing her dramatic pilot Ed & Valentine—a gritty, character-driven story with sharp edges and a lot of heart. Melanie continues her on-camera training with Kimberly Graham, C.S.A., and performs weekly with Workhorse Actors, a collective of no-nonsense, all-in performers who believe in craft over hype.

Her characters run the show: street-smart, unapologetic, and allergic to bullsh*t. Ask her friends—they’ll tell you she’s exactly like that off-screen, too.

“Baby, you can make it as the underdog.”

– Banks
